​I have been running my small business  Oak Digital Solutions for six years now and I absolutely love 95% of my job, helping people set up their new technology (mobile phones, tablets, printers, smart TV's etc.) problem solving issues with e-mails and software and teaching people how to use and get the best out of their technology.

But the other 5% can be a real challenge, because far too often it's dealing with the aftermath of scams and fraud carried out on unsuspecting people.

 

I want to raise awareness to prevent these scams happening in the first place by taking my Be Scam Aware talk to as many people as I can.  

 

My Be Scam Aware Talk is an approximately 40 minute presentation created by me with the intention of preventing people from becoming victims of fraud by raising awareness of the most common types of scams and giving them the tools to spot less common ones.

 

My talk can be given to audiences of 5, 50 or 500. Whilst it is aimed primarily at audiences ages 40+ it is my hope that anyone attending will pass on the information to those they know who might be targeted by fraudsters now or in the future be they family, friends, neighbours or acquaintances.

My presentation is completely self contained and portable. All I need is enough space to put up a screen, a single plug and an audience.​

​

It is my hope to present this talk to as many people as I can and to provide it free to those who cannot afford to pay, so I ask those who can afford to do so to make a minimum donation of £5 to help me do this. I am also more than happy to take bookings directly from clubs, groups, churches etc and will provide a quote depending on the number of people attending.

All those attending my presentation will also be given online access to all the useful information and contacts covered during the talk so there is no need to take notes.
